In Sixty Days

Alice.jpg

While Hinds Feet on High Places is probably one of my favorite fictional stories, it’s followed closely by Alice in Wonderland.

It’s not been unusual for me to feel like Alice; that I’ve been running as fast as I can, just to stay where I am - and still losing ground - that I’m wandering  in this strange land of chronic illness and seemingly unending challenges.

But, ah!  The changes that have poured forth in the past 60 days.

I’m back to doing quite a bit of reading again.

Soul Revolution, Pursue the Intentional Life, and The Artist’s Way are at the top of the list.

I’m going to be leading the  book study on this blog site for Hannah Hurnard’s Hinds Feet on High Places.

I’m journaling again.

I’m taking a year-long online mixed-media seminar.

I’m getting rid of some of the clutter in my house.

And most of all, and probably because of it, I am determinedly focusing on God.

That stems from the book Soul Revolution and its 60/60 concept.  Focus on God every sixty minutes for 60 days.

I hit day 60 yesterday.

And I’m going on to day 61.

I didn’t know the program would do that.

I thought I’d have to restart my app and do 60 days over again.

My dearest readers, I honestly believe I am seeing all of the above changes because of that 60/60 focus.

It excites me.

No, I’ve not done it perfectly.

I’m not even all the way through the book yet.

But every hour, I am beckoned to come before God. It doesn’t always happen.  But I am turning to God more during my day than I ever have before.

And every hour on the half hour, God asks me if He is enough to take care of my life.  He reminds me that He is God and I am not.

There have been more moments of peace and joy in the past 60 days than there have been in years.

I’m so grateful.

God is, indeed, enough!

My next goal?

60/120.

And I can hardly wait.

Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. Philippians 4:8

The High Places book study starts on January 12!

The site is up and seems to be running well.  If you are one of my test volunteers and have found any problems with the site PLEASE let me know!  I will be sending out usernames and passwords beginning Monday, January 6th.  You’ll have time to introduce yourself (no pressure if you’d rather lurk), and get familiar with the site setup, so come January 12, we can be off and running!

There is still time to join up with those of us who are traveling Much Afraid’s path.  (M.A. is the main character in the story.) Just drop me a note, or leave a comment on the website and let me know you are interested.  Need a book?  They are available on Amazon in paperback and Kindle versions.  (Kindle version is $1.99 right now and you can get a free app to read on your phone or computer!)  Need help with the financial part?  Just let me know.  God has taken care of that part, too!
