Revisiting: When Bumblebees Fly

Hope you all don't mind another "revisit" today.  I'm having some arm pain that seems to be aggravated by a lot of hand movement.  With so many seemingly impossible things around us, this seemed like a good choice for today.  Have a Christ-filled day!

So he said to me, "This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: 'Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the LORD Almighty. Zechariah 4:6 (NIV)

Another crisis looms large in front of me.  I close my eyes.  I find myself thinking, “No.  No, I just can’t keep doing this.  It is too much.  It’s impossible.  Just impossible.”

I sigh.  Once again, things look so bleak.  “This one is impossible.  I just can’t keep going.”

Words from Scripture spring to the forefront of my mind.

“With men [it is] impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.” (Mark 10:27).

Once again, I realize I am trying to do this on my own.  Of course it looks “impossible” to me.  I can’t fight my way through this one.  I can’t force it away or conquer it by myself.  The good news?  I am not expected to!

God KNOWS it is overwhelming for me.  He KNOWS it is impossible for me.  He doesn’t expect me to handle it by myself.

The sigh I breathe is now a sigh of relief.  I can simply take it to Him.  He will do the impossible for me!

It reminds me of the Marine saying I used to hear when I was younger.  “The difficult we do immediately – the impossible takes a little longer!”

And with God …  ah, with God …  the possibilities are endless.  (By the way, did you know it is supposed to be aerodynamically impossible for a bumble bee to fly?  But he doesn’t know that - so he does it anyway!)

Never, ever, ever - underestimate the power of God!

Father God, Thank You that we can run to You when life looks impossible and we have your assurance that through the power of Your Holy Spirit, Your perfect will – will be done.  We don’t have to walk this path alone – unless we choose to do so.  Help us to remember Your help is only a prayer away.  Amen and amen.  So be it, Lord!
