And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.    Philippians 4:7

I like encouraging quotes.  I was trying to find a particular quote I had read from Leo Buscaglia and I ran across these that I would like to share.

“There are scores of people waiting for someone just like us to come along; people who will appreciate our compassion, our encouragement, who will need our unique talents. Someone who will live a happier life merely because we took the time to share what we had to give.”

“Don't spend your precious time asking "Why isn't the world a better place?" It will only be time wasted. The question to ask is "How can I make it better?" To that there is an answer.”

“Worry never robs tomorrow of its sorrow, it only saps today of its joy.”

“A wonderful realization will be the day you realize that you are unique in all the world. There is nothing that is an accident. You are a special combination for a purpose -- and don't let them tell you otherwise, even if they tell you that purpose is an illusion. (Live an illusion if you have to). You are that combination so that you can do what is essential for you to do. Don't ever believe that you have nothing to contribute. The world is an incredibly unfulfilled tapestry. And only you can fulfill that tiny space that is yours.”

So very, very much depends on our thoughts.  This is something I have known for a while.  It is ever so slowly becoming something that I live.  I have to admit that it is difficult.  It is fairly easy to write about things - but much harder to put into practice. As the lessons that have been shown to me begin to weave their way into the fabric of my life, I am learning firsthand how important attitude is.

Scripture tells us that over and over.

We read of joy, peace, love, kindness - all the fruits of the Spirit.  Patience, gentleness begin to come to the fore.  Yes, I know these are traits that are the manifestations of God in our lives.  I am, however, realizing how many roadblocks we can put up for ourselves simply by believing in what I like to call "false truths."  No, things don't have to go my way for me to be content.  I truly can put down the expectations I have of other people.  (How demanding I can become!)

I've dealt with more challenges than usual the past week, and yet, this has been a good week for me.  What a contradiction!   It's one that cannot be explained without God.

Father God, today - simply, thank you.  Amen and amen.
