Whatever …

I’m finding that the book Soul Revolution is leading me to amazing places.  Places I would never have expected.

Right now, I’m looking at self-care; something I don’t do very well.

And specifically, this morning, my diet.

I thought I’d be on a more spiritual track here.

But food?

Shouldn’t I be focusing on something else?

As I’m trying to bring my thoughts to God, a conversation starts in my mind.

Healthy eating equals Godly choices?

For you, yes.  It is what your body needs.  You can’t afford poor choices.

I know you are trying to walk with me.  You need to understand that every choice you make brings you closer to me or further away. Every choice.

Remember these?

Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31

Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father. Colossians 3: 17

And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not to men; Colossians 3:23

I reluctantly admit that I do.  But I need to qualify it.

Ummm, I thought that meant things like prayer, and studying and helping people???

Look at the words …. “whatever you do” - that includes taking care of yourself.  Taking care of yourself means being as healthy as you are able to be.  And what you are eating affects your body profoundly.

When you are taking care of yourself properly - you are doing it for me, not just for yourself.

But …

Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? 1 Corinthians 6:19

It’s not going to be easy.  And you will fail.  But you will learn to bring each choice to me.

And once you realize, truly realize that each choice you make can glorify me, you will truly begin to grow.

The road seems to get narrower and narrower, Lord.

It does.

It gets harder and harder, sometimes.

It does.

And it will be, until you truly understand that, if you love me, you will gladly do these things for me, willingly and cheerfully.

You are just at the beginning - at the beginning of a road that will lead you to eternity

with Me.

But much of this journey depends on your choices.

Choose wisely.
