Where Does Your Hope Come From?

sinking hope.jpg

I seem to fall off the map at fairly regularly intervals lately.

I have to admit that I took my ability to write a daily post for granted in the past.

Now, I’m grateful to even have the energy and the inspiration to write.

How life changes.

The one thing that doesn’t change is that there is always hope.

There is always, always hope.

Today, I was working on memorizing Romans 15:13

I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.

I find I need to remember exactly what the source of my hope is.

And He will be the one to bring joy and peace.

It is through the power of the Holy Spirit that we are even able to hope.

Funny how quickly I put my hope in diagnostic tests, or medications, or even the internet.  I think I will find answers and hope there.

With my ever changing health conditions, I almost become obsessed with my own health and trying to learn all I can so that I can know there is some hope left.

While all the while, the very God of the universes, is holding out his hand to me - a hand that is filled with hope.

I guess it depends on what we are hoping for.

or the joy and peace that can only come from God as His Spirit gives us hope.

Not just for today - but forever.

Amen and amen.
