Worn

sand heart

Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.  Psalm 51:10

I've written before as to how music touches me in so many ways.  It uplifts me, convicts me, comforts me, speaks to me.  I've been blessed with a dear, dear friend who relates to music in a similar way.  She passed this video on to me today.

I was struck by how this hit home for me - so many days I do feel as if I am worn out even before the day begins.

I've put the lyrics below and hope that my email friends will click through to the video here.  It is so worth the watching/listening.

And what a great promise we have!  One day the struggle will be over. God promises us that yes, all that is dead inside will be reborn for those who love Him.

Psalm 51:10 has been a life time companion for me.  I hold on to it still and I do believe it gives me the assurance than we will see redemption win.

Thanks Lynn, for passing this on.

"Worn"

by Tenth Avenue North

I’m tired  - I’m worn

My heart is heavy
From the work it takes
To keep on breathing
I’ve made mistakes
I’ve let my hope fail
My soul feels crushed
By the weight of this world

And I know that you can give me rest
So I cry out with all that I have left

Let me see redemption win
Let me know the struggle ends
That you can mend a heart
That’s frail and torn
I wanna know the sun can rise
From the ashes of a broken life
And all that’s dead inside can be reborn
Cause I’m worn

I know I need to lift my eyes up
But I'm too weak
Life just won’t let up
And I know that you can give me rest
So I cry out with all that I have left

Let me see redemption win
Let me know the struggle ends
That you can mend a heart
That’s frail and torn
I wanna know the sun can rise
From the ashes of a broken life
And all that’s dead inside can be reborn
Cause I’m worn

My prayers are wearing thin
And I’m worn
Even before the day begins
I’m worn
I’ve lost my will to fight
I’m worn
Heaven come and flood my eyes

Let me see redemption win
Let me know the struggle ends
That you can mend a heart
That’s frail and torn
I wanna know the sun can rise
From the ashes of a broken life
And all that’s dead inside can be reborn
Cause all that’s dead inside will be reborn

Though I’m worn
Yeah I’m worn.

Father God, Thank you that no matter what cares, concerns and challenges face us, no matter how we are feeling physically or emotionally, You are there, even when we feel worn, frail and torn. All we need do is reach out to you from the depths of our hearts - and know we will be heard.  Amen and amen.
