You Are My God

5 Candles.jpg

But as for me, I trust in You, O LORD, I say, “ You are my God.” Psalm 31:14

This morning, I lie in my recliner - foot propped up.  A nasty bruise on my ankle (I bruise easily being on Coumadin.) has seemingly turned to cellulitis - possibly in a few spots.  I know some of my extreme tiredness comes from the infection as well as some of the heart irregularities that are resurfacing.  My show this coming weekend is looking less and less likely.

Time to practice what I preach.

I so don't like days like this.  Days when the wondering creeps in.  When the questions creep in.  When doubt wants to raise its ugly head.

This is the day for self talk.

And not very profound self talk at all.

Over and over.

"God knows where I am."

"God knows what I'm feeling."

"God knows what's wrong."

"God knows."

After a few repetitions, I realize He not only knows where I am, He is here with me.

So, I trust I will get this post written.

I turn on my encouraging music.

I hear the words,

"You are my hope alone.

In You I put my trust.

You've upheld me since I was born

You took out of my mother womb and I will  sing your praise

For you are my God - and I'll sing of your praises

O holy one if Israel , my heart will rejoice in you.

For you are my God - my soul you've redeemed.

And I'll speak of your righteousness for all my days."*

The perfect words for today.

"You are my hope alone."

Father God, Thank you for being here today.  Thank you for teaching me lesson by lesson that You know exactly where I am today - that You are here with me. And above all that You are my God.

Amen and amen.
